UHF IPTV plans explained: how many connections do you need?
Count the screens that play at the same time, not the devices you own. One viewer needs 1 connection, a couple usually 2, a family 3 to 5. Then pick the length: 12 months is the cheapest per month at $6.67, or pay once with a lifetime plan.
What a connection is
A connection is one live stream at a time. You can install UHF on an Apple TV, an iPad and a Mac with a single connection, as long as only one of them plays at once. If two people watch different channels at the same moment, you need 2 connections.
Household examples
| Household | Typical use | Connections |
|---|---|---|
| Solo viewer | Apple TV at home, iPhone on the go | 1 |
| Couple | Living room plus bedroom | 2 |
| Family with kids | Main TV, kids room, a tablet | 3 |
| Big household | Several TVs and phones in the evening | 4 to 5 |
Choosing the plan length
Every length includes the same channels, movies and 4K. Longer plans simply cost less per month: $14.99 for 1 month, $11.66 a month on 3 months, $9.17 on 6 months and $6.67 on 12 months. A sensible path: take the free trial, then a month, then switch to 12 months once you are happy. Nothing renews by itself.
All prices by connections
When a lifetime plan makes sense
If you know you will keep watching for years on one screen, a lifetime plan ($299 for 10 years, $449 for 15, $599 for 20) costs less than renewing every year. Selling to others? See the reseller program.
